Laura + Paul’s Creeksea Place Wedding {Part Two}

Following on from Laura and Paul’s Creeksea Place wedding photos, Part One and their fab vintage-inspired wedding photo booth here’s the rest of Laura and Paul’s day. This post is fairly heavy on details, including their fantastic vintage crockery which they spent months scouting antique shops, boot fairs and charity shops for. Laura had the idea of stacking the vintage tea sets on top of each other, with flowers peaking out from each cup. The florist had her doubts, apparently, but you’d never guess this – it’s truly stunning! They also had the most fantastic frame-inspired table plans, with every table being the word ‘Love’ in a different language.

Instead of canapés for the guests, Laura and Paul hired a vintage ice cream parlour company, for the perfect English Summer Day feel. I love the mini cones, which Laura showed off perfectly!

The speeches, as expected, were incredibly moving, especially Laura’s dad’s speech which had even me in tears!

The four best men delivered the perfect speech, with each of them telling us a different anecdote about Paul. After hearing their speeches, it became obvious why there was no way Paul could have chosen just one.

Judith + Lee’s East Sussex Wedding {Vintage Wedding Photography}

On Saturday, the sun shone all day for the first time in 3 weeks. The sun shone for Judith and Lee’s wedding, because they needed it to. Because these two are surrounded by such love, are in love with such passion and joy, that anything else was inconceivable.

At times on Saturday morning, there were doubts about how the day might turn out – when there appeared to be a shortage of chairs, when there were loo issues (best skirted over), when the photographer and make-up artist were at home, but the bride wasn’t. When we were, oh, only an hour and a half behind schedule… but Judith never seemed worried. I think she knew that the day would turn out as it did. As it had to. Because it’s what’s supposed to be.

This is just a sneak peek. More to follow.

Laura + Paul’s Creeksea Place Photo Booth {London Wedding Photographer}

Laura and Paul contacted me a month before their wedding about having a photo booth. I couldn’t get anyone to do it at short notice in the height of summer, but I decided to do it myself, tacking it onto the end of their coverage. I’m so glad I did! It was so much fun!

I decided that the boring white background just wouldn’t work for their vintage themed wedding, so I sourced these red velvet curtains to give a more authentic, vintage feel to their photo booth. I love it! This is how photo booths are going to be in the future!

And I love the props that Laura sourced, especially the frames – I wanted to take them home, I loved them so much! I hope you enjoy seeing these crazy vintage style photo booth images!

Laura + Paul’s Creeksea Place Wedding {Part One}

I’m afraid I just can’t cut the images down enough – so this is part one of a two part blog post!

Laura and Paul got married on what was perhaps the last day of Summer – we had amazing weather, and it was perfect for their day, allowing us to take full advantage of the beautiful grounds at Creeksea Place, possibly the most enchanting wedding venue I’ve ever had the honour of photographing a wedding at!

Laura and Paul both got ready at the Five Lakes Hotel and Golf Club in Maldon, Essex. A lovely modern hotel, it gave me the chance to take lots of getting ready shots while the girls drank Champagne and the boys played golf! (future grooms, if you’re off to play golf, let me know as you get to the 17th so I can come and find you before you finish your round!)

Then on to Creeksea, where Laura took advantage of the cottage to finish getting ready (also allowing me to grab the -omg so gorgeous- dress and take it outside for some photos!

Laura and Paul fell in love with Creeksea on sight, and loved the fact that they could marry ‘outside’ – actually they got married in the entrance to the Manor, but their guests watched from outside. A challenge for a photographer on such a bright day, especially as I was asked to not use flash during the ceremony (and actually I prefer not to, when possible, as it’s so distracting for the couple), but I think you’ll agree it led to some gorgeous shots where they’re silhouetted against the guests behind.

Coming up soon, the reception with amazing vintage cup and saucer flowers, a gorgeous marquee, a vintage ice cream parlour and more…

Lorraine + Steve’s Kent Countryside Wedding {London Wedding Photographer}

If you see a few similarities between this wedding and Charlotte and Dan’s Wedding Photographs, there’s a reason – they also got married at Christ Church in Gravesend, and they also had their reception at Nurstead Court in Meopham. However, that’s where the similarities end. Lorraine and Steve’s wedding was truly a reflection of their relationship, their love, and their family’s love of them.

Christ Church in Gravesend is one of my favourite churchs to photograph in – the light in there is so soft, and the church just lends itself perfectly to romantic weddings.Isn’t this car just fantastic? Lorraine told me that neither her or Steve are particularly into cars, but they both loved this one!
Steve had two best men, his two brothers, but all family had buttonholes.

Steve looks so happy and excited in this photo – I don’t think he was at all nervous!

Such a cute flowergirl, despite the frown!

One of the things I love about Nurstead Court, especially from a wedding photographer’s point of view, is that nothing is rushed – lots of time and space for the guests to have a drink, relax and mingle while the couple enjoy the first moments of married life.

The best men were hilarious, but can I say that it’s a good job Lorraine has such a good sense of humour!
