FAQ part II {Kent Wedding + Boudoir Photographer}

Part two of my FAQ is all about boudoir photography, and the most common questions I get asked with regard to boudoir work.

Boudoir
I want to book but I need to lose x lbs first…
No, you don’t! Boudoir is about celebrating the person that you are, your unique beauty at this moment in time.

How much will I have to show?
Boudoir can be as suggestive or as innocent as you like – we will discuss this in advance so that I am clear as to what you desire.  Boudoir is about the hint of a glimpse, it is not glamour photography.

What should I wear?

Basques, stockings and pretty underwear are ideal.  If you’re having a bridal boudoir portrait, perhaps your fiancés favourite shirt, or your wedding veil.  I will give you further guidance when we meet prior to your shoot.  Props (such as feather boas and fans) are provided by me.

Will my images appear on your blog?
I will never blog any images without express permission.

Will my images be seen by anyone else?

Your images will only be seen by me, you and whoever you choose to share them with – if I love your image, I may ask you if I can blog it or use it in my portfolio, but I completely respect your privacy and would never use your boudoir images without your express permission.

Will I see every single photo you take?
The images selected for your gallery are carefully chosen by me and are the ones I consider to be the best both artistically and technically. Other images may have problems such as closed eyes or turned heads, they may be duplicate shots, or the shot just may not have been flattering. All of these additional images are deleted from my archives and are therefore not available to be viewed.

How much retouching will you do?
I know how to pose and light you to flatter you without the need for heavy photoshop work, however, I use photoshop to enhance your beauty, and make you truly the very best version of yourself.  Here’s an example

    Great, informative post. I think there are many misconceptions about boudoir photography and it’s very important to educate the potential clients on what this really is about.

    I’ll have to link to this if I ever start doing these sessions. Great information!

    I love that you state the fact that clients don’t need to change in order to have beautiful pictures of them taken. I’m a strong believer that there’s beauty in everyone and really love trying to show it through images.
